Plans for redevelopment former Tergooi hospital

There are plans for the redevelopment of the old Tergooi hospital. Last week, the Blaricum municipality and the initiators signed an Anterieure Overeenkomst for this purpose. This signing is the official start of the cooperation between the municipality of Blaricum and the initiators and owners: DHG, Berkely Investments and Rosewood Group.

inspire* real estate is the developer and the intention is to transform the former hospital site into a nice and green place to live and work, with room for care housing. There is a lot of attention for sustainability and that the plans fit well in the landscape.

Project Councilor Ms. Anne-Marie Kennis:

“I am very pleased with this beautiful concept plan. It meets our Memorandum of Conditions. Furthermore, Blaricum municipality has committed to 25% regular social rental housing, 45% regular middle rental/purchase housing and 30% regular housing in the free sector and part care housing. We also felt that the maximum height of the new buildings should not exceed the maximum height of the current hospital. Moreover, what was very important to us was the structural involvement of local residents in the entire planning and execution.”

First urban development plans (draft)
The first draft urban plan assumes about 100 social rental homes, about 180 medium rental/purchase homes, about 120 free sector homes and about 280 care homes that still need to be divided proportionally between rental and purchase. The plan also includes space for medical functions such as a general practitioner, a pharmacy, a physiotherapist, a dentist, a care hotel and an ambulance station. In addition, the plan provides space for other neighborhood functions such as a restaurant, a wellness function, a hairdresser and a bakery.

Follow-up steps
The first draft of the urban development plan has been presented to the college and the council. The city council is scheduled to adopt the plan after the summer vacation. After that, the official Environmental Plan amendment process will start and then the permitting process. Construction work is expected to start in the fall of 2026.
